Join Us for Our 6th Annual Run/Walk on Route 66 from Funks Grove to McLean on Saturday, August 24, 2019!

On Saturday, August 25, 2018, CORE of McLean, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, is holding our 5th annual 6.6k (4.1-mile) run/walk to benefit the community of McLean, IL.


A Sweet Start

  • Parking will be provided in McLean in the open grassy lot just north of the Shell station/McDonalds (401 S Main St). (No race parking will be available at Funks Grove Pure Maple Sirup.)
  • Shuttle service to the start line will be provided from 6:30 to 7:15 am.
  • Check in between 6:45 and 7:30 am at Funks Grove Pure Maple Sirup, then for that extra boost of energy, take a pre-race shot of pure maple sirup and/or Page Roasting Company cold brew (served by Sonshine Daycare of McLean). A commemorative shot glass will be provided in your swag bag!
  • New! Visit the stretch tent before you hit the road to relieve tight muscles under the guidance of a doctor from Heartland Foot and Ankle Associates.
  • Check out a few classic cars that will be parked at registration then along the route to provide music and encouragement along the way!

After the race, proceed to the square for food, drinks, and fun!

8 am to 1 pm

8 to 10 am

  • Dig into some tasty post-race brunch items provided by the Dixie Restaurant.
  • Groove to live music by Outland, a local group of talented musicians playing covers of your favorite country hits.
  • Cheer along as awards are given for the best times in each age group.

9 to 11 am

  • Get a FREE face painting by a very talented Zoo Crew member, sponsored by Sonshine Daycare! (Free-will donations to the daycare are welcome.)
  • Sip on some delicious Page Roasting Company coffee, with proceeds going to Sonshine Daycare.

9 am to noon

  • Check out the Mt. Hope–Funks Grove Library outdoor book sale with used books and books by local authors as well as a coloring table with themed picture pages!

9 am to 1 pm

  • Find a new friend for life from Ruby’s Rescue and Retreat, who will have adoptable dogs and puppies ready to meet you as well as a silent auction with great items donated to benefit the shelter!
  • Check out antique, classic, and new cars, trucks, and motorcycles at a cruise-in organized by Mid State Cruisers.

10 am to 1 pm

  • Chow down on delicious lunch and snack items from RedBird Catering—they’ll be grilling onsite!

10 to 11 am

  • Gather up some friends and head to the beverage tent to test your knowledge at a team trivia event, sponsored by the Mount Hope–Funks Grove Park District. The winning team receives a $100 gift card to Bloomington Meats! 11 am to 1 pm

  • Stick around in the beverage tent for more live music after the team trivia event! We’ve got two talented local solo artists playing country and pop hits: Michael Allen (11 am to noon) and Austyn James (12 to 1 pm). You won’t want to miss it!

  • Register by July 15 to take advantage of a reduced pre-registration fee of only $35 and to guarantee a t-shirt.
  • After July 15, the pre-registration fee will be $40 (online registration closes at noon on Friday, August 24).
